Warrington Green Party fielded candidates in six wards in the local Council elections of 3 May 2012.

Green Party candidates stand for:

  • Affordable, clean energy and warm houses for all
  • A vibrant town centre that attracts people, with local shops and a lively market
  • locally produced, healthy and affordable food
  • A safe and clean environment, where children can play and learn in safety
  • A town that belongs to people and families, and a clean and green future for our children.

Whittle Hall: 

Steph DaviesSteph Davies

Steph lives in Great Sankey with her five year old daughter and works for Halton Borough Council. She co-founded Warrington Green Party in 2004 and is currently Leader of the Warrington Group. Steph has a keen interest in environmental education and runs a conservation group for young carers. She is also committed to animal welfare issues and the revitalising of local communities.

Stockton Heath

Robin WilsonRobin Wilson

Robin Wilson is one of the founder members of Warrington Green Party and has been campaigning on green issues for several years. He has been a parish councillor in Stockton Heath since 2008. He was a driving force in commissioning a new management plan for local beauty spot Ackers Pit and has supported the revival of Stockton Heath Farmers market. Robin is a teacher by profession and lives with his family in Stockton Heath.

Fairfield Howley

Lyndsay McAteerLyndsay McAteer

Lyndsay McAteer was born and bred in Warrington. She works as a Social Researcher in the field of Community Safety, whilst also studying part-time for a Law degree. She has been an active member of the Green Party for 7 years and is the Election Agent for the local group.

 

 

 

Rixton and Woolston

Ross LloydRoss Lloyd

Ross believes the Green Party offers a better future by prioritising sustainable energy; promoting a fairer society; defending health services and improving where we live. Ross lives in Woolston. He has (more or less) retired from teaching science after thirty years, mostly in leadership roles in the north-west of England.

Mike Smith

Mike Smith

Mike lives in Latchford and works in Manchester with young people with learning difficulties and disadvantages.  He moved from Wirral to Warrington in 1992. He is an active Trades Unionist (Unison) and belongs to a number of campaigning groups such Amnesty International and No2ID.  Mike has a long standing interest in how we care for our environment and how we need to evolve towards an equitable and sustainable way of life for all. 

 

 

 

 

 Poulton South

Eveline van der SteenEveline van der Steen

Eveline is an archaeologist at Liverpool University. She lives in Woolston. Eveline joined the Green Party in 2007, as the only party that has a true commitment to a fair and sustainable society, that fights the sellout of our public services, and that has not betrayed its principles.
